Day 3 May 7 Monday 3:30 p.m.

It is 3:30 and we are entering Dubuque IL we made good time. We beat two tugs to the locks, if we missed the locks in time we would have lost two to three hours waiting for them to go through. We just hit a log with the motor floating down the river, no damage.

The guy on the right with a computer is Dave and I am the chief communications officer. All the blog input is coming from me so don't be critical of my spelling. I try to post when I get a signal from my I-phone. I hope you find our trip interesting.

Last night we ate dinner on the marina docks, it was perfect evening. The weather man said 90% chance of rain so we moved to a covered slip that was empty, it did not rain and we had several swallows dumping on our boat cover to clean up this morning. you can see the canopies on the right

We had lunch on the go, I have a grill mounted on the side of the boat, we had beans and brat's for lunch, My roll includes chief meal planner and head chef.

This is the Cassville ferry, I took a trip on my Harley a few years ago with Terry Dahlstrom and we crossed the river on this from Iowa to Wisconsin

This is one of the large tug boats that was coming up river, we made it to the lock ahead of them by minutes, if we had to wait a barge like this would have delayed us for hours.
