Grafton, IL  Grafton Harbor Marina. arrived at 6:30 p.m. 68 miles

One of many barges on the river.  We see 10 to 15 daily

Lock number 25. Winfield, MO. We had a huge wait today. This barge lost an engine and would not leave the lock. We waited from 12:30 to 4:30. They provide no notices or updates. All we can do is monitor the radio.

We saw our first water snake today. In our wait in lock 25.  He was slithering in the water alongside of the boat.

This is the view a mile south of our marina. The river has been full of islands, bluffs and is mostly wooded all the way down.
