Day-2 May 6 Saturday 5:42 p.m.

I could not blog yesterday because of the weather, we experienced a heavy rainfall going down the river. When we reached the St. Croix River at 3:00, the rain was so intense we docked at the bar in Prescott and Waited for the storm to let up. We met a lot of locals they we reall interested in following our blog. They shared a pizza with us and a few beers. We made it to Red Wing by 6:00 the river was wild with water from the waves crashing off the front sign and then water was pouring over the large front window. The fully enclosed top proved to be a great investment. The decision was made to say here rather than trying to get to Lake City. We did not want to take a chance on crossing Lake Pepin with the risk of high winds at night and large waves. Once we docked we met other boaters shared stories and then went downtown to eat dinner. After dinner we went to a karaoke bar and had a few windsor's. Bedtime was
about 11:00, the rain came back and got intense with a lot of lighting, I made a prayer to God
Please don't let us get hit by lighting. We made it without any issues and left down the river at 7:00 am.
Captain Willy made good use of our marine radio, it was a great way to reach the lock operators,
even a barge operator contacted us, I guess he thought we were too close to him when he came
Out of the lock.

One of four locks we went thru today, we were thru lock #6 in 6 minutes a new record for us. After checking one marina out in La Cross and making the decision it was less desirable we docked at Pettibone boat club, showers and nice accommodations. Doug is making chile tonight for dinner, we decided to spend the evening at the dock playing cards and hanging out. They say 90% chance a rain tonight it's 5:20 and a nice evening so far. If I have any luck loading a video on this site you will get to experience the lake pepin thrill ride.

I know this photo does not do the scenery justice but the bluffs were beautiful.
