Day-7  May 11, Friday 8:30 a.m.

Grafton IL, Grafton Harbor Marina

Grafton Marina is a great place. The building in the
back is the marina, it is on the lower level. The entire building floats on the water. You can see the pole to the right that it floats up and down on it. A
great bar and restaurant is on the upper level. We sat on the upper deck last night and conversed with the locals. Joane and Duane met us for the first time and arrived at the dock with a round of drinks when we pulled in. Doug and Willis joined them at a local restaurant and the owner picked up the tab for dinner. How's that for hospitality? If you get to Grafton stop at Piasa Winery.

This is my morning communication center. An excellent internet connection is provided. Doug is washing our clothes.

Look at the floating lifts under the boat. I watched one of the locals use one. They pump water in and out of the tubes to lower and raise them. This keeps the junk off the boat hull.
A gas stop on the river. A number of these locations have been here forever. You could barely read the signs and the gas pump price.
Our slip includes a power connection. It was great sleeping weather. I have been very comfortable sleeping on the boat.
