Day-5, Wednesday, May 9, 7:05 a.m.

 Burlington, IA

Last night waiting for lock 18 we were expecting a late arrival so I made dinner.
I know what you're thinking Dave a cook. Janice is not here so the menu is reduced.
I did make a great double cheese burger and beans. We bought a case of beans for the trip.
The side mounted grill is a great asset.

This is the marina in Burlington, IA. Notice the long break wall to keep the
rough water from the boats
All three of us are early risers, we get to see the sun rise. Two slips down were some
party animals, they were making noise until 1:30 a.m. I told our group at 6:00 this
morning lets put our lawn chairs in front of their boat and party back.
The marina does not open until 8:00, we need to leave so Willis dumps 10 gallons in the boat and we are off.

A raising rail bridge in Burlington. It's a good thing we do not have a sail boat or we would have a substantial delay.
A shot of Burlington when we were leaving this morning. Look at the clear sky and flat water. The temperature is a little cool but we like it. I know when we get south we will remember and wish for the cool weather back.
