Day-13 May 17, Thursday 8:30 p.m.
Our marina for the night is in Smithville, Mississippi. 68 Miles today and four locks.
The Tombigbee Waterway is a manmade channel. It is nicely wooded so it is not a boring ride, There are open lakes along the way.
There are many controlled water dikes that run into the waterway.
One of the large bodies of water on pickwick lake. We are pleased there is no wind.
Mississippi is the first state that requires a lifejacket be worn by the line tender.
This lock deservers a photo, The drop was the greatest of the trip 80 feet
Yesterday we were delayed two hours by this barge. Today we met him again and delayed us at three locks. We were a little disappointed he did not let us go ahead of him.
